A R T S T A T E M E N T
My need for self expression started at the very early age. Overwhelmed by powerful emotions and in search to the existential question: Why am I here? …I unconsciously felt that the only way to be well was to become one with Nature, dissociate from the world entering a state, that I can now recognise as the so called ‘flow state’.
I spent hours being with animals and observing the ‘Movement of Nature’ made of moving forms: smoke rising, fire dancing, waves, branches intricately embracing each other, clouds interesting with the wind…and the perfect astonishing forms of animals, insect, minerals, shells, flowers….
I always felt mesmerised by this complex simplicity and I presume that in some way I absorbed it. I loved it and still do.
Feeling a need for freedom in my body the first form of self expression was dance. I became a professional dancer, but when I got injured I searched for other means of expression and healing.
I found that drawing abstractly and in particular posing one line after another forming abstract forms, was effective for my nervous system. I could self regulate my emotional state and find inner freedom and peace.
I also searched and found healing and answers in many other Body-Mind techniques(Yoga-Traditional Thai Massage-Meditation-Family Constellation-EFT-Shamanic Journeys-Rosen Technique-Ayurvedic Massage….) and Artistic Techniques (Sculpture&Installation - Videoart - Ceramic), but DRAWING is my main door to inner peace.
My drawing are now between me and you (the other)….. What do you see?
My drawing are based on the concept of PAREIDOLIA. The instinct of human mind to search for forms where there are none.
Our specie communicate with energy, shapes, sounds, intuition… Anyway the codified letters and words came after. There are shapes that talk to our collective consciousness and subconscious mind.
Archetipal shapes triggers some emotions and we are constantly surrounded by logos, signs, symbols…. The apparent chaos respond to rules of self organising order.
Symmetry and Asymmetry trigger our mind in a different way and Sacred Geometry is embedded in nature around us and in the vegetables we eat.
The question now is: if we heal our inner nature are we still in time to heal the world?
